This image is reminiscent of the style of the Dutch Painter Vermeer with it's soft window light and classical pose of the young woman. The image was from one that I took while visiting one of the plantations outside New Orleans. As we were walking down one of the hallways in the old Main House, I saw one of the guides dressed in a period costume sitting reading a book bathed in beautiful window and incandescent light. I then digitally painted it to reflect the style of the old masters. | |
