The region of Umbria is the hilly region located North of Rome and South East of Tuscany. It is noted for  stone villages that seem to climb up the hillside, and fields of poppies and sunflowers. The La Romita Art School is located there in a restored monastery on a hilltop above the town of Tirne. It was there that I created these paintings.
