About the Process

          Unlike a standard photograph or some photographs that simply have had an artistic Photoshop® filter applied to it, my art works are created with a unique custom process that produces the true look and feel of traditional fine art mediums. Much of the work is painted by hand but using digital paint instead of real paint. I work individually with you to create artwork that is created to your specifications, style and likings, and each piece is custom made and unique. The result is an heirloom that can be treasured and admired for years to come.

Basic Package

The basic package cost is $175 for which you will receive 1 image size ~ 12 x 16 matted to 16x20 and 1 image size ~7.5x 9 matted to 11x14. Larger sizes can also be created.

How does it work?

I prefer to work from High Resolution Digital Images but can work from existing prints. Before I start a piece I will evaluate them to ensure that they will successfully work as an artwork piece. The best images are those that the subjects stand out and have good composition, color, and interesting lighting and posing. Some of the best ones I’ve done do not necessarily have the subject’s face head-on. If you can try to envision it as a painting so can I. Extraneous objects, people, and background clutter I can handle and remove to make it more artistically appealing.
 

Once I have had a “go” at it. I will email you low resolution “proofs” to get your feedback on the style and direction you like. Then I’ll work on final renditions. Once you accept the digital proof, I will print the final artwork and do any matting and framing ordered. I can often email you “virtual” mat style and color renderings with the artwork in place so you can decide on color and border width options.
 

Requirements

Printed photographs should be at least 3x5 or larger. If sending scanned images, they should be scanned from negatives or slides at 1200 dpi or from prints at 300 dpi). If using images from a Digital Camera, It works best if the images are at least 1200 x 1200 pixels or higher.

Time frame – Approximately 7 to 14 days to complete. If possible please indicate your email address so I can email you proof s for your approval.

Sending Work

You may send me digital image of any resolution to preview. If the file sizes are greater than 1 MB, send them to me one at a time.  Send by email to sfriedman@digitalartmasterworks.com

Larger Sized Prints

I can print larger sized prints on request up to 36x 40. These are printed on very high quality printers with archival materials and can make your artwork piece a centerpiece in the home. You can upgrade from the basic option to larger sized prints based on the following table

Framing

 * I use very high quality Nielsen brushed aluminum 1½” wide metal frames. Wood frames vary depending on style and width. 

Reprints

Once the initial artwork is done, you have the added advantage of being able to order reprints just as if it were a photograph. Images are available for up to 1 year.

On local orders I will deliver free of charge. Shipping prices vary depending on size and type (i.e. framed vs. matted).
